The villa was named "Daphne" after the fragrant homonymous plant (laurel) which grows around the property and is used by local people to make tea or as a herb in traditional Cretan cuisine! If you believe that accommodation is a major factor in aiding a unique holiday experience then Villa Daphne is exactly what you are looking for! This outstanding property provides total privacy in both the indoor and outdoor area, accommodating up to 10 guests and is surrounded by nature and at the same time is conveniently located very close to the beach and all kinds of shops!

Layout of the villa

Indoors

Located in a 4,000 sq. m. high fenced olive grove Villa Daphne is a 350 sq. m. accommodation consisting of two floors. The open plan first floor is accessed through the main entrance and there you will find a living room with an open fireplace, cosy sitting area with large sofas and a dining table. Through its large glass doors, the room offers lovely sea views and direct access to the garden and pool, after descending a few stairs. A 40 HDTV, a Playstation 4, a Nintendo Wii and board games are also available in the living room. Next to the dining area, a fully equipped kitchen makes sure that you have all that is needed to prepare your homemade meals. The living room opens up to a large veranda, equipped with patio furnishing, providing additional siting areas overlooking the sea and the pool, an ideal place to watch the sunset and relax.?
The first floor features two bedrooms:
Bedroom 1: Master bedroom with a King size bed (1,80 x 2,00), Air conditioning, Closet, Safe and Direct access to a shared balcony
Bedroom 2: Twin size beds (0,90 x 2,00) that may be converted into a Queen size bed (1,80 x 2,00) upon request, Air conditioning, Closet, and Direct access to a shared balcony
Finally there is a family bathroom with a bathtub, a WC and a laundry room with a washing machine and a tumble dryer on this level.

Ground Level
A second kitchen and a family bathroom with a bathtub can be found on this floor, providing independence and privacy to large groups when required.

Bedroom 3: King size bed (1,60 x 2,00), Air conditioning, Closet, TV with an ensuite bathroom with shower
Bedroom 4: King size bed (1,60 x 2,00), Air conditioning, TV
Bedroom 5: Twin size beds (0,90 x 2,00) that may be converted into a Queen size bed (1,80 x 2,00) upon request, Air conditioning, Closet, Ensuite bathroom with shower.
Furthermore, Last but not least, the ground floor boasts an indoor,15 sq. m. swimming pool (minimum - maximum depth: 0.6 m - 1 m), which also functions as a Jacuzzi and can be heated if required with an extra charge.

Outdoors
The terrace of Villa Daphne offers a variety of amenities which include:
- A huge, ecological, 100 sq. m. swimming pool (0,4 - 1,7 m. deep) equipped with sun beds and umbrellas for your comfort.
- Barbecue facilities and an outdoor dining table under the shade of the pergola give you ample opportunity to try al fresco dining, while an extra shaded siting area and a gazebo are also available.
- On the other side of the pool a lawn-covered area with a playground and toys under the olive trees is at the disposal of our young guests, while on a covered part of the ground floor veranda, by the pool, an air hockey, mini football table, as well as gym equipment including a bicycle, weights and an exercise bench.
- The whole area is fenced and secured with an alarm system offering our guests safety and privacy!
- Shaded parking space for 3 cars.
- The villa harnesses the power of photovoltaics to seamlessly integrate green energy and sustainable living into its design.

The Villa is located in Sfakaki, just a short drive away from Rethymno. Villa Daphne has an amazing location for unforgettable holidays!

Simultaneously the villa is only 1.5 km away from the beach, living areas and Sfakaki market. Also found at a distance of 5 km are the well known tourist resorts "Platanias" and "Adelianos Kampos" where you can find supplies, amenities, services and entertainment! Finally the city of Rethymno is 10 minutes (12 km) away by car!

The location gives you the advantage of quiet and private holidays engulfed in Cretan nature but close to everything!

Outstanding villa

We have been lucky enough to have stayed in some lovely villas around the world but the Villa Daphne is truly outstanding. We were a family group aged 2 to 65. The villa was perfect for all of us. It is immaculately clean. Furthermore it is cleaned every few days. This includes the house, the towels, the bedding, the whole outside area right down to changing the covers on the outside furniture. Any queries, Markos, the owner will respond within minutes. Markos comes every few days to oversee the cleaning and to personally clean the pool and outside areas. We were left an amazing welcome food package. Throughout our stay Markos brought some delicious treats. The kitchen is well stocked. A real treat was being supplied with thick soft towels. The house has so much for every age group. The outside pool is such a good size. Room for all. Our family made a great deal of use of the indoor pool, partly as it was warm when they woke up early in the morning and partly when it was too hot for them outside. A real bonus. The outdoor dining /bbq area is well kitted out and perfect for family meals. The views were spectacular particularly the sunsets. We found many perfect eating places near the villa and in Rethymno. The food , the service and the people were lovely. We recommend hiring a car also useful for visiting the plentiful excellent local supermarkets. An all round excellent villa. We would highly recommend.

The perfect multi-generation stay!

It's hard to know where to start here. There are so many incredibly positive things to say. Booking: The coordination in booking was seamless, instant responses and detailed answers throughout. Location: Whilst down a bumpy road up hills, it is totally worth it for the simply stunning views and privacy! You need a car or taxi to get around. The Villa: I mean it has everything you could possibly want. Whilst the inside is stunning, and has all the amenities you want, the outside space is what it is all about. Kids and adults alike had things to entertain them, swimming pool, table tennis, air hockey, sun loungers, BBQ and beautiful sunsets/sunrises! The Host: There are not many people on earth as kind and as generous as Markos. His hospitality knows no bounds, super attentive, friendly and just a great human. The Concierge Service: Etouri were the icing on the very large delicious cake! I want them in my life always. Nothing was too much trouble for any one of us. From taxi bookings to restaurant bookings if you need anything they are just a message or a call away.

The most amazing Villa

The Villa was stunning from start to finish. Communication before and during was outstanding. Upon arriving, we were wowed by the villa, no expense spared and perfectly maintained. For a group of 9 people it had everything we needed from cooking equipment to sun loungers. We all loved our week here which had the most amazing views of the sunset.

Great family villa

This is the perfect villa for a Crete stay. Ideal for families, large outdoor pool and indoor pool plus plenty of well looked after activities to entertain the kids. Gorgeous sunset views and very well equipped kitchen for cooking (including bbq). Great location for beaches (Bali is great!), shops and restaurants (not far from Rethymno - which is fab too). Villa owner very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable with great advice for what to do/ where to go. Provided us with great local produce for our stay - check out his shop in Rethymno too - Moka - (wish he'd open one in the UK!)

Absolutely Outstanding !!!!

We have been renting villas across Europe for over 20 years. This was the best by far – simply outstanding!! The villa facilities, especially the outdoor space, were just perfect. Proper sunbeds, games and spacious private gardens. The pool is huge and the salt water filtration so much better than the usual chlorine cleaning. There is a shady spot for any time of the day. It was hard to tear ourselves away to explore the area. The view of the sunset in the evening was just breath-taking. The villa interior has everything you would need for a group of any size. There is a good local supermarket 2 minutes drive away and many good restaurants within a 10 minute drive a - special mention for Paraplous right by the sea with brilliant service and excellent food. Markos, the villa owner, was the perfect host. Kind, generous and helpful beyond any reasonable expectation. He is obviously very proud of Villa Daphne, as he should be, and wanted everything to be perfect. It was spotlessly maintained twice a week by Markos and his team. Markos was ever helpful with suggestions on where to eat, places to visit, and on every visit bearing gifts from his shop in the old town. Who could ask for more ? Etouri's concierge service was an added bonus. Booking restaurants and taxis for an evening out and answering any query or request very promptly and keeping in touch from booking to leaving at the end of our stay. First class communication. Absolutely recommend this villa - you won't
