Great time at the cabin!
The pictures on here don't do it justice! We stayed in a nice little two-three person cabin. There is a pullout bed for an extra person, and a heater underneath the bed. The kitchen was pretty well stocked with pots, pans, cups, and silverware. Also there was a coffee maker and a toaster. The lake is beautiful clear water, and not very weedy. It's great to swim in. Right when we got there the property manager greeted us with a big smile and showed us to our cabin. If you're looking for solitude and privacy this is a great place. The bathrooms were kept clean and did not smell. The showers were clean and felt great. Every night there was a community campfire if you're looking for a little socialization and everyone we met at the campsite were very friendly!
A cozy, secluded cabin on a lovely lake
Wolf cabin was terrific! My wife and I stayed for a long weekend and enjoyed our experience very much. The Wilderness Wind staff were responsive and helpful, and the cabin itself was prepped and ready to go when we arrived. We enjoyed cooking in the cabin, and we took several scenic canoe/kayak trips around the lake. Really enjoyed our stay. Thanks to the staff for a great time!
It may be prudent to pack all your own pots/pans, plates/bowls, and utensils if you expect to be doing an amount of cooking here: the cabin's kitchen, though equipped with most basic tools and staples, is outfitted a little randomly. We found no forks, for example, minimal pots/pans, an incomplete collection of plates/bowls, and a fairly arbitrary assortment of cooking tools. We made do successfully and weren't personally troubled by this (we packed backup kitchenware in case of this) -- but be aware of the kitchen's spare and rustic nature if you plan to cook here! Bring what you'll need just to be safe.
We spent our 30th Anniversary at the Wolf cabin and loved it!
We loved the disconnection from our daily life and the peacefulness it brought us. The cabin was quaint. The lake was stunning! The bath house needs improvements. Very clean but the methane gas could be overwhelming at times. Maybe add some pipes to the outside might help.
Cute cabin. Loved it.
Quiet and beautiful getaway!
We really enjoyed our stay at Wilderness Wind. The location is great and so are the cabins. We swam and kayaked in the lake, which were provided for free. There's also a great view of the lake. Very peaceful!
Great little cabin, right on the lake.
A sweet little cabin overlooking the lake. Lots to do. Motorboat, kayaks, rowboat, available to use. Clean lake for fishing and swimming. The bathroom was outside the cabin, but was only about 40 steps away. Every night there was a bonfire, where guests gathered. Lots to do in nearby Ely. Jay was always available to help with anything. We would stay there again!
