Welcome to "The Getaway at Lake Whitney", our beautiful five bedroom, two bath waterfront home on five acres on the shores of Lake Whitney. Our home has a beautiful gourmet kitchen overlooking the lake. Our hot tub also has an amazing view of the lake. The home has a beautiful walk to the water. We have three flat screen TV's with cable and all of the sports networks. Watch deer feed from our deer feeder at sunset. Golf on our six hole pitch and putt golf course. Launch your boat at the nearby Lofer's Bend All five bedrooms are stocked with new linens and Down Comforters. We follow VRBO's enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed using CDC guidelines. We sanitize surfaces, use approved cleaners and disinfectants, clean and disinfect each room between guests and provide extra cleaning supplies so that you can clean as you stay. We pride ourselves in offering a beautiful and safe Getaway for you during your stay with us.

Park all vehicles on the driveway. Prior permission is needed to park boats on the grounds. Keep noise down to a respectable level after 10 pm.

Put sheets & towels in hallway after stay. Leave comforters on beds. Cover washed between guests. No smoking inside.

Eclipse viewing adventure

Very Nicely equipped kitchen, common area spacious, 2 bathrooms 1 en suite, slight problem when guests sleeping for bathroom access , beautiful lakeside location for watching the eclipse and the clouds parted miraculously for us. Good seating, clean linens, nice hot tub. This greatly exceeded our expectations. The owner John was immediately responsive by text for small issues. Thanks so much to the owners!!

Great House with Huge Property

Enjoyed our stay despite the not-so-great weather. House was well appointed, the kitchen had everything you could need. Huge yard for activities including throwing the fishing poles into the water on the bank.

Great Lake side home

Celebrated Family birthday / enjoyed beautiful private lake frontage / played a little pitch golf / did s’mores on fire pit/ brought our kayaks - great place to use them - caught no fish but it was fun trying! / unbelievable sunsets / hot tub soaks were totally relaxing! / kitchen well equipped/ comfy beds - all 11 of us slept great! /top it off it’s dog friendly too!! Thanks John~ we hope to return during the summer!

Lovely weekend at lovely property

My adult sisters and my mother like to get away for a weekend together at least once a year, and we stayed at the Getaway for a few nights in early November. We really enjoyed our stay. It has 5 nice-sized bedrooms, with comfortable beds and clean linens. The two bathrooms were adequate for our needs, and the main living space is comfortable, with a large table, seating, a fireplace, and a gorgeous view of the sloping meadow down to Lake Whitney. Lots of seating and even a table on the back porch made it easy to admire the sky and water as well as the visiting deer. The kitchen has a 6 burner stove, a new-appearing frig, and all the necessities, but the kitchen is also the source of some constructive feedback. We would have appreciated a few different sized pots and some of the dishes in the cabinets were not completely clean. We never used the hot tub, so can't comment on that feature. The hosts were gracious and very responsive. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would book this place again.

The accommodations were above and beyond our expectations! The location Exceeded our expectations!

The property and location was exceptional! Thank you and Kudos for sharing the amazing accommodations with us! We want to come back again next year! BUT - Do we have to deal with VRBO again to make reservations? That was a TOTAL Nightmare! They ARE the worst ever! My professional job is with hotels - and honestly, I would have Never booked your place based on the experience I had to endure with VRBO! We were desperate to find a place and had to deal with this booking method! End result- we loved the place! How can we make this easier for next year?! To the Owners - Thanks to You - All the Bad with VRBO was worth the effort for our stay! Thank you again for sharing your Fabulous place with our Family! Life is short and we are older, it was a nice weekend for us to spend time together and to have memories of the time we have left to gather as a family! Priceless! Thank you for allowing us a Wonderful place to make this happen!

We are a professional couple who live and work in Central Texas. The Getaway at Lake Whitney has been our family weekend lake house for the past almost 30 years. When our boys left for college, we spent a year fully restoring it and are now excited to share it with the VRBO family. We are very "hand on" hosts. We are always available by phone or text, and our friend Jimmy lives next door and is available to help with any emergency that might occur.

We have fully stocked gourmet kitchen, all new sheets and Down Comforters and three flat screen TV's with cable and all of the sports channels. Join us for an amazing weekend!

This house is unique because it sits on five acres of beautiful lake front property. We have amazing lake views from so many rooms. The sunsets are beautiful. You will see amazing blues and corals in the sunset cloud formations. Deer, squirrels and other wildlife are frequently spotted and are so fun to watch. The Getaway at Lake Whitney offers a very comfortable home perfect for your next "getaway"!
