This was our second holiday in Agropoli and again we were most impressed with the Italian ambience of the apartment, the fantastic views and the hospitality shown by Pier Aldo, who is our family friend now. We ate in different restaurants recommended by Pier Aldo, visited the beaches and generally enjoyed every aspect of our holiday. We had the great pleasure of tasting the best mozzarella cheese, freshly made from buffalo milk. We really feel this is a home from home for us, with a friendly welcome, beautiful scenery and a wonderfully relaxing environment. Perfect for another holiday, which we hope will be soon!
An amazing top floor apartment with stunning views of the Gulf of Salerno. We will never forget sitting on the balcony drinking our glasses of proseco
and watching the sunset between Amalfi and Capri.
The flat was light and airy and furnished to a high standard with not only the balcony but also a terrace with views to the mountains where you could eat or sunbathe
We had chosen to go to Agropoli because of the medieval hill top town and we were not disappointed. It was full of charm with narrow streets, restaurants in little piazzas and topped off by a stunning castle where we saw an opera in the balmy evening air.
A trip to the hinterland to the national park of Clilento is well worth a visit. The tourist office arranged for us to have guide and we spent a day trekking along a deep and cavernous river and finished the day at a local restaurant eating homemade pasta and wine. Spectacular!
Pier Aldo, the owner was charming and made us very welcome. When we arrived he took us in to town (5 minutes away)and showed us where the supermarkets and restaurants were.He also told us how to get to the most wonderful beach which we visited on a regular basis.
We would certainly love to go back and would recommend this apartment One of the charms of this area is that this is where the italians holiday and they make us feel very welcome.

I have recently stayed in this fabulous apartment in Agropoli, truly stunning views of the marina, the town & the bay. Pier Aldo our host was very helpful & friendly with advice on where to shop, eat out etc, This apartment is just a short walk away from the main piazza and then onto the old town. There are a number of restaurants, pizzerias & bars, all good & again friendly, some English is spoken, however, if you do speak some Italian, then you will find the stay more rewarding. The apartment is very well equipped to a high standard and I am hoping to come back to Agropoli and stay here once again. There is a large terrace where we ate our meals and a canopy to shade you from the heat of the sun as required, There is no lift, there are about 50 stairs.
Parking is on a narrow street, although in a quiet area of Agropoli, my car was hit by another car on the first weekend of my stay, not impressed by this and is why I can not give this apartment 5/5, which is a shame.
My wife and I stayed here for a week enjoying Agropoli and the surrounding region. Pier Aldo ' s apartment is just as described. The view is simply amazing any time of day whether enjoying coffee in the morning or wine in the evening. The apartment is very spacious and well equipped including the kitchen. The center of town is just a short 10 minute walk. The rail station is only about 20.
Agropoli does not yet have the throngs of tourists that you see in Amalfi or Cinque Terra. We found all the locals a pleasure to be with. Enjoy Agropoli and don't hesitate to pick this spot to stay.
When we saw the promotional pictures of the property in HomeAway web site, we immediately liked it! However, when we arrived Agropoli and saw the scenery from the flat, we have realised that the promotional pictures for the property were doing injustice to the flat! The see view from the balcony and the windows was absolutely breath-taking!
Later, our host Pier kindly took us to the town centre and showed around and introduced to us his fellow shop owners and recommended a number of good places to eat, drink and entertain ourselves. He was very friendly, courteous and helpful. His mother was also lovely and assisted us in a couple of occasions.
The weather was excellent and we were told that it was usually the case throughout the year.
The town may seem to be small but just big enough to provide all the necessary bits and pieces. Probably better, if you are after a quite holiday away from the hustle and bustle. The nearby beach was excellent and the water was absolutely crystal clear.
We thought this town was a hidden gem of Italy and we truly loved it. I highly recommend our friend Pier and his lovely property to everyone. And I am sure anyone who stays in this property will share their positive views as we did.
