Located on a peaceful and private dead end road, this is the perfect Vineyard getaway. It is a short drive to get into town to the ferry, the grocery store, etc. For those who like to bike around the Island, you have close and easy access to a paved bike trail near the house.
This pleasant, roomy home is the perfect vacation spot for large families or a group vacation. In addition to a gorgeous master bedroom suite, there is a plethora of sleeping options and 3 full bathrooms, so no waiting! A big fully equipped kitchen and dining area is conducive to fun nights at home cooking up lobster dinner. The open floor plan and multiple living areas throughout the first floor enable everyone to space to be together or to find space and have the privacy to “do their own thing”. I found it very relaxing and would definitely go back.
This is a great setup for multiple families looking to share a house.
There are plenty of sleeping accommodations, including a nicely laid out MBR suite, as well as 3 full baths.
The kitchen is well stocked, and opens nicely into the primary living space and dining area. There is also a 2nd living area adjacent, which happens to be nicely isolated/soundproofed from the rest of the house. This works quite well for large family situations where the kids may want to hang out, playing music or watching movies without disturbing the rest of the house guests.
The backyard is a nice large and open flat space, with an outdoor shower and a nice size deck... perfect for grilling and hanging out after a day at the beach.
The house is located on a quiet dead end road, only minutes from the ferry and grocery store... At the end of the road is a great paved bike trail.. that pretty much gets you to anywhere you want on the island..
We come here every year.. so no complaints..
I was looking for a comfortable house that would be appropriate for my family and a friend with autism. We like an open floor plan so the "cook" doesn't end up segregated from the other vacationers. We wanted a very clean home, a nice yard, a great location close to fun activities and shops. This home was perfect! My friend felt immediately right at home (like the rest of us) but he was able to sleep well and we could go on long walks on the bike path every day (without getting into our car). There was a "family room" for when we wanted to split up and do different evening activities. We had a few questions and the very friendly owners got right back to us with answers. I cannot imagine finding a better house on the island, for a reasonable rate. We are presently planning a work retreat there as the house can sleep quite a few people. Everyone is very excited!!
This is our 3rd year renting and we have enjoyed the peace and serenity of being off the beaton path yet not far from things to do.. We have a retreat there every year. It's not a fancy house but has everything you need to enjoy your vacation.the owner Barbara was very nice to deal with. She let us in earlier then we expected and was very accommodating.. I can't believe the price for this place compared to other houses that house this many people. If your looking for fancy this is not the place. If your looking for affordable and clean this is a great find.. We will be long term renters best value on Martha's Vineyard
The house itself was mediocre and not well maintained, and the owner was absolutely terrible to deal with! If you don’t want to read my entire review, this is the point: THE OWNER HAS NOT RETURNED MY SECURITY DEPOSIT (WITHOUT REASON) AND I AM HIRING A LAWYER TO TAKE HER TO COURT. Read on if you want details about my awful experience.
The outside light bulbs were burnt out when we arrived, so the house was extremely difficult to find since it is set back from the road in an area that is not well lit or marked, not to mention that it is a mile down a dirt/rock road that is littered with speed humps (yes, humps, not bumps) that did a number on the undercarriage of our car after a week. Anyways, I called the owner and told her about the light bulbs and had to take other ones from inside the house to put outside. Okay, fine. Then the wireless internet was not working, and the owner made ME call Comcast to figure out the problem, when it turned out she had not paid her cable bill. Frustrating, but whatever… BUT, the worst part of the experience was after we left. We are conscientious renters and always leave a house very clean, but after two months (the terms stated in the lease) I still had heard nothing at all from the owner about returning my security deposit. Over the next couple of weeks I called her cell phone (the number she gave me) and left polite messages (she never answered) and emailed her, but she didn’t respond. I finally looked up her home phone number and called from my work phone and she finally picked up. She claimed she had thought she had already returned the deposit (an obvious lie), but then said she would put it in the mail that week. A week went by, then two weeks, and still nothing. I called once a week for the next two months, sometimes reaching her, sometimes leaving a message, and each time she claimed she was just behind on it and would send it. The last time I called she hung up on me! After that I consulted a lawyer and sent a 30 day demand letter to give her one last chance to return my money before I proceeded with legal action. Needless to say, the 30 days have come and gone without a word, and now I will be taking her to court. I am shocked it has come to this…what the heck is wrong with people?! STEER CLEAR OF THIS RENTAL PROPERTY!!!!
