Old farmhouse, miller's house, restored in 2010, in the high Maestrazgo, nestled in a meander of the ravine called "Rio de las Truchas", where the limestone geology forms cliffs and gorges typical of a torcal. The vegetation consists of holm oak forests, "carrasca" variety and some black pines. But most of the land is covered with scrub where there are junipers, box trees and junipers. You can see wild boar and goats, they are close to the farmhouse.
On a slope of the ravine there are riverside trees and buildings in ruins, among them the old mill with its abandoned raft and wheat stores. An eighteenth-century bridge allowed the transport of grain from Villafranca del Cid to the mill. Now only pedestrians pass.
The house is distributed in 3 floors:
- On the ground floor there is a living - dining room, the kitchen and a bathroom. Decoration elements: exposed stone walls, wooden beamed ceiling and vault, bread-baking oven, antique vintage furniture alternating with other functional and modern.
- 1st floor: 1 double bed room with aljez floor, 2 rooms with 2 beds and bathroom interior. View to the slope of the mountain.
- 2nd floor: 2 bedrooms with wooden ceilings, one with aljez floor another with floating parquet.
In the adaptation to rural house has tried to alleviate the impact to the environment with some ecological solutions. The water supply comes from rain stored in a cistern, it is made potable through filtration and chlorination. It has an autonomy of 160 days / year. The complement, if necessary, arrives at the house with the light both buried. There is a system of solar panels that support heating and hot water. The wastewater has a biological treatment and therefore sustainable. Many of the building materials are ecological: limestone, tiles, wood, plaster, etc. ... An insulation system, on the ground floor and on the north wall, with chambers where the air circulates tempers the house. The width of the walls also help the indicated effect. The waste putrescibles organic matter are transformed into humus.
